" I found the Sleep Number bed comfort and firmness to make for a complete night's sleep...just as I had heard it could be.
This was after only 1 night at a Doubletree Hotel... and it was truly wonderful!

Not A Good Value

" Decided to try the Sleep Number bed after our TempurPedic wore out after ten years. I'm quite heavy, and the ability to adjust firmness was appealing.
I didn't like the store in our local mall. Its just a catalog order center-- what's the point? They should stock beds, not expect customers to pay big shipping bills and wait. And at this price point, delivery/setup should be included.
I can feel a lump in this bed, like a ridge or something that runs across the matress about 1/3 down from the head. Catches me right in the kidneys. Probably a seam in the air chamber baffling. After setup and feeling this ridge, we took off the cover to make sure the foam or padding was not bunched up during installation. It was fine.
The "comfort layer" is a joke-- just some cheap, thin $10 worth of poor quality low density foam. I'm sure the $5000 beds have better foam, maybe $50 worth, but it goes to the overall value of these beds. There is not much value in these mattresses. Too expensive for what you get.
I would only recommend the Sleep Number to someone that really needs a adjustable firmness bed for special reasons, irrespective of the cost, then I would recommend Sleep Number. But if someone just needs a new bed with no special need for adjustable firmness, then there are better beds at 1/2 the price or less. "

Great Bed!

Pros: Mattress Pads/Comfort Layers
" Overall, my experience with Sleep Number has been good. I wasn't overly pleased with the service I received at the store in the mall but I had done my homework and knew exactly what I wanted so I didn't need much help.
My wife and I purchased a king size CSE about a month ago and have really started enjoying the comfort this bed truly offers. At first, we both thought that a firm setting would be our preferred zone, but as time went on we found that we liked the softer setting much better. I would suggest to anyone that is thinking of buying a sleep number bed that you do your homework to decide what bed would best suit you and your partner. Even if you plan to visit a showroom, it's extremely difficult (at least it was for my wfie and I) to decide the best bed for comfort. I read a lot of reviews on each bed and knew which one's to stay away from.
I opted to set the bed up myself since they offered me free shipping to my home. Set up was not very difficult and it was neat to see how the inside of the mattress looked and worked.
The bed has been a great purchase and my back pain is almost completely gone thanks to this bed. Great job Sleep Number. "
